What would I get from a Credit Card – I first thought when I didn’t have a credit card. The first time I took it was on a trial basis – that is – if I don’t get any benefits from I would cancel it – soon the results were out.

I had taken a Kotak Credit Card – it was a pretty good card with lot of benefits attached to it. As I am a frequent flier, the first thing I did was to book a ticket to Calcutta from Delhi. I first compared the prices from various sites – including the different airlines sites and other like makemytrip.com which give comparative ticket prices. While I was doing so, my eyes suddenly caught the newly received envelope from Kotak Cards. It was offering me a cash-back of straight 15% in case I book from Go Air through their ViaWorld.in – their ticket booking travel agency. The deal was good as I was saving straight Rs 1000/- on my one way price. This way, I would save Rs 2000/- on my two way trip. That’s was really good. Without wasting time, I booked the tickets.

It’s been six months I have been using Kotak Credit Card and reaping the benefits of it. Definitely, credit card is a serious business which if used properly, definitely, saves a lot of money…

Are you a credit card holder? Yes??? Then, may I ask how many credit cards do you hold – 2 or 3?

One needs to have a certain range of income on monthly basis ( this income criteria varies from credit card company to company, which you will have to check before taking the card), you should be in between the age of 18-60 years; you should have a permanent address proof. Apart from this, you should have a bank account statement of any ban for past three years with your account maintained fully. Of course, having a PAN Card sis mandatory with all the credit companies. These are the basic rules, apart from this; different credit card companies serve different criteria, which need to be fulfilled.
